This past event...

I wish there were these types of events closer to me. Unfortunately I don't enjoy traffic or the extra hours tacked on to my drive to go 12 miles so I don't go either to events that are about 70 miles from my home. 70 miles might mean a 3hr drive one way in my neck of the woods.
I would love for something like that to be only 70 miles away . Everything is hundreds and a thousand miles from me out here in the sticks . The thought that 70 miles could be a three hour drive one way makes me cringe .

I legit laughed. Theres a few freeways here that are absolutely atrocious. The 91/101/405 are all parking lots and anything coming out of Santa Monica thru downtown will make you rethink your lifes entire purpose and allow you the time to do so...I live in the suburbs and that's the only drawback being that if there is an event like this in LA I'll have to deal with the traffic to go. Since I drive in traffic m-f nearly my entire life the last thing I want to do on the weekend is indulge in more of the same behavior.

Theres about a 12 mile stretch of the 91 freeway headed out of anaheim to the 15 freeway that can take hours. Tax payer dollars built the fast track lanes and they were supposed to "be released" back to the public once they were paid off but it'll never happen. I refuse to spend my money on something my tax dollars helped to build and help the corruption wheel to keep turning

@Ceez I can only imagine . I live in a town that you can drive from one farthest point to the other in 45 minutes during the heaviest traffic of the day . I could leave my house right now and be in Yellowstone Park in two hours . I could leave my house and go visit @jaylach or @WhistlingBadger in three hours or less . I once drove a motor home right through the middle of Salt Lake City and I NEVER want to see traffic like that again ! I aged ten years right there and then . California , especially Los Angeles ? Not even for @JuiceBox52 new 200 gallon aquarium delivered and set up .

I made an escape to Idaho in the middle of 2019 right at the turn of the plandemic. I was 99 miles south of the Canadian border and I was in heaven. The fishing was epic, trout every which way you turned your head. Wildlife up the wazoo. Legal concealed/open carry without a permit and hardly any crime. It was glorious. One day I will make another escape. Montana has been on my radar but the housing market seems similar to Beverly Hills...I would love for my nearest neighbor to be 5 miles or more away.

I envy you sir!

That's a real shame that there are no similar events in your area as being a fish lover.

I live an hour or so from Seattle in good traffic, I’m so glad I don’t live in in the city and am more rural

Got you beat there...I can be anywhere in my town in half an hour, on foot.

I drove through Chicago a couple summers ago and almost turned the Badger clan into an ex-family. Somehow got caught on the middle of a ten lane intersection when the light changed and cars started charging at us from every which way. Fortunately Mrs. Badger's Subaru has some stomp to it. I was able to floor the gas and screech out of harm's way just before the wall of cars arrived. Had to pull into the first residential area and catch my breath a bit before I could go on. Not my best driving moment.
