This Makes Me Sick

Isn't turtle and tortoise shell decor illegal? Maybe it's just a certain type. The freeze dried stuff really threw me back. I mean, it doesn't even make sense, why?!

The angelwing mouse looks dumb. Otherwise, I can see the display of these things in science classes. My teachers always had baby pigs and snakes and sharks.

Not to my tastes, but when I was in the Oceanographic Institute in Vietnam they just had thousands upon thousands of jars with dead fish and the like in them and had used them to learn about the species.

If a someone has an interest in these things then leave them in peace. Better it is out in the open than hidden away. They are not doing anything wrong or illegal as far as I am aware, and I am assuming that people have to be licensed to carry out taxidermy.

Tons of people have their cherished pet dogs etc stuffed and keep them in their homes.

For all we know these could be fish and other items that have dies naturally and been given to this company to manufacture items out of them.

Personally I do not like the idea of having a dead animal around, in any form, so I will not be making a purchase form this site or any like it.

Its a bit distateful, but I couldn't help chuckling ast the frog purse, oh dear, I can feel the reprocutions of my post now......

and the freeze dried chipmunk  bizarre. lol

Its not my cup of tea, but I dare say some people will buy it.

And yet many of us will think nothing of: sitting on, or wearing, cow skin or drinking wine filtered through fish scales.

It only seems wrong because we keep the animals and it is not something we are accustomed too.

got it in one, i think.

Isinglass is actually swimbladders of fish (especially sturgeon) for clarifying wine and beer (not fish scales unless this is another process I'm not aware of).

I once wanted to freeze dry my pet Bagrus (A very large shovelmouth catfish) but didn't have the cash back then (when he died). But I will do that with my African Lungfish. I recon it's no different than stuffing or taxadermying a large mouth bass. But I figre mine would be more meaningful since we've kept company for all these years. Isn't "Trigger the horse" (Roy Rodger) stuffed some place for all the people to enjoy? Maybe Lassie, too? I wouldn't wear or carry my Lungfish like that though.

Misty of Chincoteague's stuffed too, and a number of other celebrity animals. No celebrity humans yet, though... i don't think. Certainly none I know of.

I'm slightly dubious that any of those died of natural causes, after all, you don't tend to find any of those dead and lying around in any state suitable to be resold.
