This Just Is Not My Week

First one of my heaters broke, then my 30-gal tank cracked all up (trying to clean it, slipped, you know the rest!), and now my light on the 20-gal is acting up. All of a sudden it will only light the bulb about 1/4 of the way. I've replaced bulbs, but no difference.
Please tell me this can be fixed!!!

I think the light can be fixed if you are handy. I don't remember the details though, only read that it is possible. Maybe it was the balast that needs replacing? I really don't remember unfortunatly.

I may just take it in to the lfs and see if they can fix it. It'd be cheaper I'm sure than buying a new one at $35.

The only problem I have had this week is i had an outburst of brown algae and I had to scrub my entire tank! That is the only bad thing that has happened to me this week dealing with fish!

I just need a few weeks of things NOT breaking.

No, I've just had quite a few this week! I've had a heater go out, a tank crack, and now the light strip go out. Oh, and about 1 1/2 weeks ago I had a filter go out, too. I've basically bought a brand new set up in the last 2 weeks, which I really didn't have the money for. Surely it has to get better though, right???
