This is the last straw!

do I trade them all in & get a completely different type of fish or do I buy another group (it's 5 for £5 so I'll be getting 5) and hope that the problem stops?
I would trade in all of the danios. Like you said... you "hope" adding more would maybe stop the problem... but trading them all in eliminates the problem altogether.

I'd go with the Harlequin Rasboras as well.

in all honesty in my original tank plan I intended to have Harlequins instead of danios :) I only really got them because EVERYBODY here nagged me to death about it.

my only concern about them now is that I'm thinking of getting a butterfly fish and according to the information I've been given they may eat fish under 2" big :/

yes!! the evil EVIL danios are gone!!!! Got some black phantom tetras instead, very peaceful and mixing in well with my other fish.

As soon as Steve realised the danios were gone he came out of hiding and started swimming around quite happily :D

Isnt it great how fish are so complex?

My zebra danios are wonderful tank mates. They are not too bossy, and generally add a little movement to my tanks.

Now my tetras! geez, I reckon they've given me a little idea what keeping piranha is like.... anything touches the water and it boils with all their frenzy feeding.... which can be a problem as they out feed most other fish I've tried putting in with them, thus starving them.

I've only had any luck with platies so far as they seem to have the intelligence to leave the tetras to it and go get all the food that the powerhead flushes across the tank into the plants :D clever little fellas.

Danios are pretty wild, and I don't care for them. I'm so hyper myself,
I need peaceful fish to watch and unwind with.
By the way, love the name of your betta! :flex:
