Some guy in my local area moving away, look what he's selling and it's only on £1.40, the fish alone must be worth a fortune, let alone his tank!!!!

NUTS!!!!

£10.50 and you have just posted this 5min ago! That should go for £200+ easy

it was funny i've been watching it for a few days on £1.40 half thinking about it....and then it jumps lol

I think you should be right though if the right people are down here, and I know a few are :good:
I'd have it, but no way my flat could have that weight of tank in it...pooo!

Never thought about the starting date on the listing just the thread!

Good price but doubt you would get it for anything near that. After, all it is an auction and typically with eBay, everyone waits until the last minute. It does say there's no reserve so that means it could possibly sell low. But beware of the seller. I've obviously never had any dealings with them since I'm in the US but when I buy on eBay, I always steer clear of anyone with a rating less than 99.5. At 98.7, they're not one I would consider.

Hey, the further south you come the cheaper they get too!!
Got my jewel 70 and an aquaone 500 on same day from two different sellers, with all the gear (heaters etc...) for a little over £60!!

But thanks for pointing this one out!!!!! :D

Hi

Have you seen what the seller has put on at the bottom now. I dont think you can withdraw if there are already bids on??

Interesting ploy though?

Even with 99.5%...I don't trust them. I bought collectables from someone who had 99.8% and they sold me dodgey stuff. I don't know if I was the one off person they decided to screw with, but yeah still. I tend to stay with the one seller now, because I know the stuff they sell and what kind of person they are.

Back to the topic: It's a pity I live in Australia, i would love a tank like that. I would offer high even without the fish. Just an empty tank with all working parts lol :)

Typical ebay practice. You start a bidding low so many, many people watch it, then have a bid war in the final minutes. It will go for a LOOOOOT.

I've researched that issue as I won something, or was at least the high bidder with 10 seconds left, a great price once and then when I refreshed to see it I indeed won it, it said the item was no longer available. The seller had pulled it. When i looked at their rules, it stated that you couldn't do that just to keep from selling it a price that is too low but could if:

The item is no longer available for sale. (Please note that you shouldn't list an item on eBay if there's a chance you'll sell it elsewhere before the listing ends.)

There was an error in the starting price or reserve amount (and it's too late to change the reserve amount).

There was an error in the listing.

The item was lost or broken.

The only way I would buy from someome with 99.5% is if they are a large seller. Most of the time, I'm looking or 100% ratings just to be sure.

yeah that's fair enough.....I hadn't thought of it like that, I had someone pull something on me the other week, luckily she hadn't sold it and gave it to me for less than it was on ebay for anyway which was nice :)

More annoying are the non payers!!!!

Had some guy win something from me the other week, them PM me saying don't leave bad feedback I can't buy it, then didn't reply again, I mean that's just plain rude!

my ebay score is 99.7% (1398)

2 negs because sellers left neg for me after i did for them on faulty stuff or stuff not turning up,,,, i really hate that

and 1 neg beause someone didnt read the listing right and thought amazon frogbit was a plant you actualy plant not float..

so not everyone with less then 100% is not to be trusted

sharon

and the tank in question is at £104 now lol

I agree shaz. I do look back at their feed back when they've got as many transactions as you do. Regardless of how good you are, someone, somewhere will have a problem and leave bad feedback. I will say that I have been very lucky so far and never had an issue although, I have always been a buyer and never sold anything there.

Back to the original topic, I do see that it is up to £104 now with over 9 hours to go so it will probably at least get to £150 or more with the last minute flurry of bids.
