I guessed Pacific coast of California for my first one and it was really New South Wales, Australia!

My best was about 120km away - I guessed Cumbria, and it turned out to be Northumberland.

13071 - Not terrible.  I recognized the Grand Canyon and Florida road signs.  I recognized the Russian flag colors on one, and guessed Europe for the Italian one.  Looking back, I should have known it was Italy.  The embarrassing one was when I chose Africa and it was in South America.
