Thinking of getting pet mice

I was just working about, stowing the last few things in the garage because we may have a nice little 15cm of snow tomorrow. I had to leave the garage door open, so I hope I didn't get pet mice.

I got pet rats (unwanted neighbours) living in my roof cavity. The rotten little turds sit outside my window eating my plants and they also sunbake on the paving out the back. The only plus about having rats is you don't get many mice. However, having a dozen rats playing rugby in the roof at 2am isn't nice.

3 winters ago, field mice got into the garage, probably when the previous guy was moving out. I was fortunate, because I was able to catch them all, and they were all males. However, I discovered they were there because one drowned in a tank.
If anyone's inclined to post about this happening to them, immediately do a 95% water change. Then do another. I wonder if mouse fleas qualify as live food.

It's an issue in my environment because rodents want out of the cold. The deer are back to staring in the windows of the fishroom, but they aren't getting in no matter how sorry I feel for them.

Sometimes we've got mice and even rats running through the backyard. This is because I've got two neighbours who throw food in their backyard. I've asked them to stop but they just won't listen. We've got a fence but those little critters just know how to dig a whole in the sand.

Call the council and tell them you have rats coming into your property from the neighbouring properties.

We had rats coming into our yard from the next door neighbours. It went on for months and I was killing a couple each night. I contacted the council who went around there and found they had an illegal mechanical workshop and a garage full of car parts and rats. They told them to clean it up or get fined. No more rats after that.
