Thinking Of Getting Angels

i have been thinking of getting angels to put in my community tank. i have tiger barbs but i also have guppies whos fins are perfect and not torn. will i have a problem?

You'd have to try it. I'd expect some nipping in the first week, but if they're still at it much after that, you'd be looking at having to rehome some fish.

I would think the finnage of the angel would have something to do with your odds of success, too. If you get a standard angel, you'll probably be fine. If you're looking at the super veiled angels, you may have some serious problems. While you have large numbers of barbs, which is great for diffusing nipping other fish, I don't know that any barb could resist the long, flowing fins of a super veiled angel.

im going to get regular finnage striped angels.

I'd say your chances are better, but, as mequro said, you'd have to try it. I would have a backup plan that I could enact immediately if things start to go bad. If the barbs look at the angels and see fins they like, it won't take them long.
