Fish Herder
Well I'm feeling dumb. I only really go to 3 or 4 pet stores (all of them chains), and since I've lived in my area for almost a decade I figured I knew it pretty well. But I've always been meaning to look through the yellow pages figuring that there might be a few independent pet stores nearby that I'd overlooked.
So I went to yellowpages.com to do a search. And since I have some baby bettas I'm going to need to find places to sell, I figured I would be willing to drive them up to 20 miles if I knew it would mean they'd have people to take care of them and the demand would be high enough for me to unload them all in a short period of time.
Well, take a guess at how many pet stores are within 20 miles of me.
About 40.
And a good number of them are strictly fish stores.
On my next day off I have a lot of driving ahead of me.
So I suggest going to www.yellowpages.com and finding out for yourself what's in your area. There are probably gems somewhere you've been missing out on.
