Bought tonight on a decent piece of live rock a kenya tree a finger coral and a small toadstool. only £20 which is a bargain especially with the sizeof the rock

the lad gave me a good size red legged hermit and two snails as well

put the rock in and the biggest bristleworm came out but also 3 starfish whcih look just like the brittle stars I;ve seen on here. they are about 3 inch across and have five legs and walk just like an octopus

they have what appears to be a striped colouration on the legs, can;t get a pic cos they are too small for my camera phone

are they safe?

Sounds as though you got a real bargain! :good:
The Bristlestars are generally a good addition to your tank, you will probably not see them again as they hate light, but I have a few which just spend the day with a couple of legs sticking out of a crevice in my LR.
They are good scavengers, the Green Brittle is considered not to be friendly as they can predate small fish when big enough and the White Brittle can grow quite large.
Yours are babies, I would say they are a good addition and you could always put them in your next and bigger tank if they get too big (mine are still pretty tiny and they have been in my tank over a year now)
Hope that helps, wish I could get bargains like that!
PS Mine are banded too

And If they become a pest you can always ge a harlequin Shrimp :)
