As per my earlier post I've recently purchased two new freshwater gobies that the shop called "Indian Rock Gobies". Since they are still babies its been pretty hard to identify them. I beleive they are of the Awaous Family and the closest resembalance I could find was this one:
Largesnout Goby
Mine are a lot smaller and slimmer than this one and their first dorsal fin is pointed. My fish also change colour from light to dark quite dramatically but they do in essence look like the fish above.
Has anyone else kept these fish? Does anyone have anymore info on them like water temp & quality, food eaten?
At the moment they are in my small 5 gallon, planted tank with 2 Badis badis and 2 peacock gobies. Its freshwater but my water is quite hard. Temp: 72 F. Nitrates and ammonia at 0. Think this will be okay while they are still small. So far I haven't seen them eat but they do stick to the glass where i have algae could they eat this? Should I get some special food? Hope someone can help!

Is nobody replying cause this is a rare fish or because its a really boring post? -_-

Boring post ;)

Just give it some time and the experts like CFC will come and give you more information than you can poke a stick at. It just takes some time since were an international forum

Congrats on finding the gobies

Gobies of the Awaous family are to the best of my knowledge primarily found in freshwater. Like other small goby species they should be fed small aquatic live or frozen foods like daphnia, bloodworm, glassworm, black mosquito larvae and brineshrimp, it is unlikely that they will eat flake or pellet foods.
The tank should be ok to start with but i would recomend upgrading to a minimum of a 15g as soon as possible.

Thanks CFC thats great to know! They'll be going into one of my bigger tanks pretty soon. I am so pleased with these fish it wasa choice between them and candy striped gobies. The guy in the shop said the candy ones were more active but these guys are out and about all the time !! sometimes they hide inthe gravel with just their eyes showing - Fantastic  love finding rare and unusual fish!!
