They sent me an oddball cory!

Hi all! I ordered 7 Otos and they have sent a Peppered Cory in place of an Oto. So now I need to get some pals for him so he isn't lonely and has somebody to play with. My question is this, if my LFS doesn't have Peppered Corys, can I get another kind of Cory (Panda, Ornate, etc.) and they still get along and group together as if they were all the same kind? I don't want him to be alone as I have read they like to be in groups of 6 or more and I have LOTS of room in my tank, so getting them will not be a problem.

Any kind of cory will school with any kind of cory if they are happy..

It's best to stick to the type of corydoras you already have. Are you sure that no lfs around you sells peppered corydoras? They're the most common found corydoras around you see, so it seems odd. Perhaps you could ask your lfs if they can order some in for you?

If there's really no way of getting any, I would go for a different type of corydoras to go with him indeed, so at least he won't be on his own. Go for one which gets to the same size as c. paleatus (peppered corydoras) though, so no panda corydoras (they're also very fragile and likely to die on you [and anyone else])

I have 4 Albino corys and 1 Emerald Green Cory and they get a long very well and school together. Like Erised said, Ive heard its best to keep them together by species. They like to be in groups of 6 or more...hope this helps

I have 2 bronze corys and an agasizzi and the agassizzi just used to sit there but now I replanted the tank all 3 of them are all over the place at certain times of the day. It is very cool to see!!
