I don't know how many times this has been discussed and considered.. but an optional age thing might be helpful under the avatar..

I'm finding people often talking to me like I'm 9 years old... gets annoying.

Not that I can off-hand remember your posts or have even checked back at your posting history, it could just be that that's the way you come across ? ????
If it really bothers you, you can make some note of your age in your signature.

Ps: it also doen't help your cause having those little eggy pictures in your sig - it does indeed look like belong to someoneone really young :/

Pps: how old are you then? (Edit: checked - almost 21?)

Putting someone's age on every post may not be possible with the current board software. If it was, it would only appear with people that have entered their data, (correctly!), in their profile, where it is already available for anyone to read anyway.

I doubt having your age printed in the side panel will affect the way people post. People tend not to look at that much anyway. Peoples attitude is normally attributable to their perception of the person they are replying to which, in turn, comes from that persons posting style.

I think bloo is on to something. That's exactly what I though when I read your post.

Not sure I would like my age put up, for me to see, every time I post!!
suppose you could exempt the lady's if they wish not to say!!! would also be an indication of the sex of the poster. avoiding the embarrassment of calling a woman, "Pal" or "Guy". oops as i have :X

I think it's funny when you say he or whatever and they reply with I'm a girl/boy

People can and often do lie about their age anyways so it's at best just another thing to second-guess about.

A few tips for you to appear your age:
- Write in full English, using capital letters and correct punctuation. I know it's not always possible if English isn't your first language or if you are dyslexic, but capital letters and full stops are basic, atleast make an effort.
- Word your posts so one can read it without problems, don't use things such as "I went to shop none gone all is there", (I couldn't think of a better example).
- Put something like "Kind regards, Bob" at the end of your posts.
That's all I can really think of at the moment.

I wonder what people think of me from my posts...

I may be getting a bit OT here and we've had this discussion before, but that fact is we all have control over the way people perceive us here. Everything from our style of writing, grammar, spelling and what is in our signatures and avatars. There's nothing at all wrong with being yourself and communicating in any way you choose but the bottom line is that people will make judgements about you - just like they do in the "real" world.
