Tonight at about 9p.m. MST someone came up to my dorm room door and knocked. When I went to the door to answer it, there was noone there! Instead there was a 2.5 Gallon fishtank sitting at the foot of my door with a note saying: "Take care of these stupid fish, I hate them and I know you are the friggen fish-lover here." Well in the dirty tank were three neon tetras, three zebra Dianos, and two guppies (male and female). I was appalled at their condition!! I took them into my care immediatley and got areation and a heater in the new tank. They are ok now, but I am woried.

 i can't belive someone did that, do you have any idea who it could of been? at least they didn't flush the fish or kill them or something -_- . hope they are ok :)

Why be worried? You got a new tank with fish and you may have saved them, if they die I'm sure it's not your fault and you have a new tank.

I wouldn't worry, if they survived the bad conditions things will only get better. It sounds like people at your school know that you are a good person.

Good for you FishHeads  Sounds like you are the recognized as the expert fishkeeper in your dorm........and a really careing person.

What a wonderful reputation to have! :D

oh my  people are cruel. how can you hate a creature that can't even do anything to you to make you hate it in the first place?

well, on the bright side: you rescued new fish, and got another small tank. do i hear Betta #17 calling? :D

I am only worried because I hate seeing fish die. I am happy to report though that they are all doing wonderfully! I cleaned out their tank carefully last night and added some gravel (there as none) which is black, and two small plants. I reinstalled a mini heater (I was using a full size one at low temps over night until I could get to the store this morning), and a new bubble-strip. I added some Melafix for their ripped fins and a pinch of salt and Copper Safe to help fight infections. They ate for the first time a few minutes ago (they wouldn't eat this morning either). THe Neons have almost their full color back and the guppies and Danios are swimming about happily. I still can't believe some one would give up on such cool fishies!

Thank you. :D Yeah I love fishies and everybody on my floor knows it! I just hope no ill effects come to my newly aquired. I was certain I would lose a couple neons, but they are still kickin. :D
