thought id post up a pic of the tank before i rip it apart and start fresh. Its a tetratec 60l with tetra heater/filter and 15w t8 light in the hood. i like the current look of the tank but still want the "less is more" look.

Looks really nice M8! :)

How much did you pay for the setup if you don't mind me asking? I know pets@home aren't the cheapest place to buy from, but i'm looking for another tank for my daughters bedroom and that one looks just right!

Looks really nice :), you say uncyleable tank!!, why?... have you gained any sort of baceria at all?

I would imagine even if the tank isnt cycling there still will be some bacteria growth... why dont you keep as you going so the media and the possibilty of the bacteria are still alive and then just transfer the media to your new TT external, may give you a kick start even if it's only a tiny one.

Its a great little set up cost £80 i think, included heater, filter (&media) various chems and food. Have to laugh andy as you say "for yours daughters room" we all know its gona be your tank.lol. jen if it hasent worked by now its deffo not going to work (13weeks and still through the roof ammonia and zero nitrites/nitrates).
Thanks for looking i should have a few new pics of the new set up when i get the new filter.
neil.

LOL.. yeh we all have tanks apparently brought for others ;)

What i ment was even after 13 weeks there has to be a certain amount of live bacteria even if not enough to complete a cycle, with this (even a tiny amount) of bacteria it could still prove usful to add that media to your new filter, it may quicken the NEW cycle, it may not but there is never any harm in trying, you never know it may speed up the cycle but if you dont try you will never know ;)

The Mrs is looking lol!! :)

Seriously though, £80 seems very reasonable for that tank. Might have to go get me one!!
