Hello everybody, I am looking for synodontis experts to help me determine my stocking. I have 2 featherfins, 1 rhino pleco and a ropefish. What other synodontys spieces could I keep?
And how many? Also, could I keep angels for mid level fish?

Going by your sig i would guess your on about your 55 gallon tank yes? It would be worthwhile stating the tank size so people can give you better replies ;)

It might not be much help, but I'll chip in and say forget about Synodontis brichardi, they are so placid compared to other Synos.

sorry everybody! Yes, the tank is the 55 gallon. However, the rainbows sharks and the green severums will be going back to my lfs soon.

When you say Featherfins do you mean Eupterous.
If so I found them to be less aggressive than some other species like Angelicus and Nigromaculatus.
I would chance a Shoutedeni and some Flavitaenatus ( spelling )
Shoutedine keep to themselves but can handle themselves when needed. The Flavi will just get out of the way if any trouble starts.

yes, I do mean Eupterous. But I'm more worried about the fish's level of daytime activity than the aggression issues. Thnx!

I have found Eupterous to be one of the most active species of Synodontis.

One of my favourite species ( I could not think of the name the other night ) is Pardalis. Absolutely stunning but very very shy.
Leopardis would be a more active species along with Multipuncatus but the Multis are best kept in groups of at least five. The
more the merrier.

Below are the 7 best synodontis cats.Get at least three in a group or they will hide.

Cuckoo synodontis size:10 inches
Marbled synodontis size:6.6 inches
bugeye synodontis size:4 inches
bigeye synodontis size:8 inches
featherfin synodontis size:10 inches
congicus synodontis size:8 inches
orangestriped synodontis size:8 inches
