so I have been wanting to add shrimp I'm breeding to community tanks...
got shrimp... check
shrimp are breeding... check
catch surplus shrimp to put in the community tanks... ahhh no check

2nd attempt super easy... put an algae wafer in a fish net, set it on the bottom of the tank, wait an hour, pull the net out, with a dozen shrimp already in the net, and add them to the new tank..

I'd been wanting to move about a dozen cherry's to another tank, but with all the plants in my shrimp breeding tanks, it's been a challenge... doing this worked better than I expected

I use a black ladle that has a hole in the back at an inch from top, so once out of the water the level lowers automatically. I put baby food in it. and hold it near the surface.

Then I use a shop stick with a piece of food attached at the tip. I go fish the shrimps I want and bring them in the ladle. once there they are in paradise they don't even think of escaping.

With a little practice you can bring them out with a bait then cherry pick them at will in a stuffed tank.

nice to meet you... another cherry shrimp, in this big new world...

I catch shrimp with a siphon hose. I put is some food on the substrate to draw them out into the open in piles and then I suck them into a bucket. From there use a brine shrimp net to catch them. I do this and then I bag them for sale.
