He was fine this morning and then I went in a little while ago to feed him and it looked like he had a scratch along the top of his head. The scales are sticking up. I just want to make sure he'll be okay and it's not a disease or something.
Does anyone know what it could be.

Holy cow!

I was just about to post about the same thing!

I just got a male splenden, Caesar, as a present, and I notice that he has 2 white spots on top of his head.

I eagerly await a response as well.

Are you sure it's not the beginning of dropsy? if its just his head then maybe he hit something sharp in the tank.

Wow dejavu, I just replied to a similar topic to this. My betta has it too and he seems fine. The spots don't seem to be spreading and he's healthy as can be. Although I am keeping a close eye on him, so I suggest you do too. If there's any changes in his behavior or more spots pop up - there could be a problem. :hyper:

ok this is weird mine too has a funny spot thing but i hes had it since forever :)

I hoping he just hit his head but i'll be watching him closely for a while. He seems fine though. He just built the largest bubble nest he's built in a long time.

I've determined that from my beefy male beta, the seemingly harmless scrapes that were on top his head were caused by brushing up against the plastic plants in his tank. Im sure it could happen with real plants too if you have them. Mister Beta Get You Money is happy and comfortable with more spaceand in tact scales these days. Something to consider.
