Hello people,

im planing to set up a tank for a betta and would like to run through the plan ive got for the set up with you all to see if its suitable, ive spent the last week reading as much as i can on bettas and there needs ect ect,im not new to tropical fish but am new to bettas so if anyone wants to suggest anything or point out any mistakes/improvements please feel free to do so

ok, the tank im looking at using is the LAC aquariums r331,i intend to remove the filter that comes with the tank and replace it with a small sponge filter that will be driven by an air pump, will also be adding a smallish heater.
For substate either sand or small dark natural gravel or a mix of the two,i intend to plant with a few plants not sure on what ones as yet, java ferns, java moss,am swords, cabomba and sum floating plants, then have either a clay pot or coconut shell for a hide away

duz that sound ok?

ok now the big question

although my lfs is a good one and there are a few chain ones not a million miles from me,the fighters ive seen in them are not realy what im looking for the problem being i realy fancy getting myself a hmpk,so my question is do any of the uk people on here either breed or import them?

dpfishways shop seems to get very good words spoken about it on here and the owner is a member also had a look a bettaladys site so im kind of hopeing getting hold of a hmpk aint gona be that difficult lol.

thank to the people who take there time to read my whole post,to those that dont get to end i dont blame you a can rabbit .

Hi Bollio

SOunds like a good plan to me, especially as we have a juvenile PK who is looking like he will attain HM status :good: He came with our Thai imports. If you want some pics let me or Netty know :good:
