So, in my mid size community Cichlid tank, there are several pairs of fish, that seem to act like they would like to set up shop for spawning, but before they can claim a turf, they would need to drive out the neighbors… heavy stocking seems to help prevent that, as well as fish that don’t respect the invisible boundaries… the gang of Cory’s ( 9 total ) and a larger blue eyed albino long fin bushy nosed pleco, don’t seem to care if someone wants to claim a territory… the shear number of the Cory’s, seems to prevent anyone from picking on them, and the pleco, flat out doesn’t care… I’m not trying to breed anything in the community tank, but would guess they should be avoided, as tank mates in a tank, you were hoping for some breeding… but having them in this community tank seems to allow me to keep several fish that would otherwise be battling for turf daily…
