The New 35 Uk Gallon Reef Tank

well ive not realy fort to much about what corals ide like to keep but there are plenty of soft corals i can choose from so may stick with them so that i dont have anything to hard to keep as i dont know anything about sps and lps corals. And its not like u cant get any realy nice looking soft corals.

Was having a think about what fish ide like to keep last night but i cant decide which ide like to keep but was thinkin of somewhere around 8 fish would u say thats ok or could i keep a few more if its possible??

Might as well sell the TV now.

Probably won't get used again :p.

Long tank seems to work very well (and you can check loads of light over it.)

well i do like the look of coraline algae so will leave it on once it gets growing but if i get any horrid green algae growing ill be sure to scrape that off for sure.

brought myself 2 new additions for the tank tonight.....a yellow clown goby and a green clown goby. They are both quite small being only 1" long each so at least i know they are both young. Once they were in the tank i fed them with some frozen brime shrimp and they were both happy to eat which i was pleased to see.

Heres a couple of pictures so you can have a look.

ha ha i wanna try get hold of the copper coloured one with the blue stripes like you have ill try get one over the weekend as the other fish shop i use 90% of the time has some in last weekend so hopefully they will still have some.

How big is your yellow goby littleme just out of quriosity so i know how big they can get??

Hi
The yellow is just over an inch, he was just over 1cm when I got him :) The red is fully grown at around 2". These seem to be the more common. Where as the greens seem harder to come by. Or maybe that just round here and on the net.

now thats small it must of looked lost in your tank. Yea the green ones are hard to come across thats what the man in the fish shop told me anyways

Just a small update for you atm. All is doing well in the tank ime glad to say and i have 1 new addition to the tank........a citreon goby so another collection to the goby family.

Got my eggcrate through the post today and cut a piece to fit one side and gave it a try and does is sap the light of what. I guess it was a mistake buying black instead of white what u think?? Ill prob end up just keeping it and getting another 2 bits of white as it was only £14 so not a silly ammount of money.
Ime going to my LFS tomorow to look for some T5 reflectors so i can get all 4 tubes on seperate reflectors rather that 1 big 1 that ime sure is wasting lots of light.

And then at weekend ime going to get the final 6kg of liverock so i can scape the right side of the tank then it will just be a case of stocking the tank up with a couple more fish then lots of corals.

Heres the picture of the eggcrate on the left side of the tank. It doesnt look to bad in pic but in person its realy gloomy

And now the citreon goby. its about 1 1/2" long and pretty chubby it spends a lot of time at the back of the rocks where u cant see it but hopefully will come to front of the tank once its realy settled in.

Yay.. you got one :) hes really cute and yes they do have chubby faces :)
Mine was a bit shy at first but now sticks to the front pane of glass and flaps at me when he wants feeding.
The tank is looking really great  Weve got a similar rock set up too. Large cump and one small clump..lol also have the same colour background :p  But I think I'm going to keep mine clean and not let anything grow on it. But I bet I'll change my mind when I'm fed up of the weekly 2 hour glass cleaning..lol

I see what you mean about the egg crate. Cant you get some glass sliders cut instead if the white does not work out?

Glass sliders was an option but only problem with that is ime pretty sure ill have heat issues. Only other thing i fort of was to get use some wire netting (that my parents have plenty of for the bird averys) and make up a plastic frame or something and use that as a cover.

And yea i know what u meen about our tanks looking similar and to be honest when ive been folowing your journals ive always liked how ur tanks look so thats where ive got some of my ideas of what i want my tank to look like.

The back pain of glass is still realy clean my 2 big snails to a brilliant job of cleaning it. i watched one the other night clean half of it in 1 go the other night. My LFS is hopefully getting me a sand shifting star fish this weekend so should keep things nice and clean.
