Hi.

My juwel rio will be housing some angels (and all my other fish).
But i want a change.
Platys to guppys.
So my questions is:
Will a full grown angel eat a full grown guppy? :/

Thanks for your help.

James

Yes, they will. Smaller, slower males are more at risk than the faster, larger females but more than likely the angels would eat some of your guppies. I would stick to platies if I were you... or get swordtails or mollies.

Right thanks.
So if i got all females would they be at risk still?

James

I think it depends
An adult angel fish that has never seen a guppy before will probably eat it in a flash
But I raised 1'' angel fish in my guppy tank, and when the angel fish grew up, never bothered the guppies
so...

*Phew*

I thought for a minute there that James was going to get a straight answer with no discussion at all, we can't let that happen! :p

Only joking - of course discussion is the father of improvement (or some such quote, from someone far cleverer than me - who's probably capable of remembering quotes and their originators properly, although I suppose if you're the kind of person who makes 'quotes' in the first place, you don't really need to remember other peoples. Hmm. Am I rambling?)
