The Lucky 13-

well, up until a few weeks ago, i was down to three bettas. These were a lovely butter yellow veiltail mutt, a crowntail in shades of pale pink to dark red, and shades of blue and red veiltail mutt (he was just too pretty). then, a week and half ago, along came four lovely bettas from wuv (an orange plakat, two mustard gas CTs and a mustard gas delta). the day before they arrived, i had found a gorgeous CT reject at Petco who is mostly a dark red with black and white accents on the fins. now i found myself with 8 bettas!!! this past thursday i made a stop at a petco to pick up some supplies, and left with a pretty veiltail mutt, i just couldn't resist his colors. that would 9 bettas!!!

well, this past weekend i went to the Arizona BettaHEADS club meeting and left with 4 more bettas: a pair of copper plakats (doubt i will breed them as i just don't have the time or space right now, but i've always wanted a nice female, something i can't find here often), a short finned crowntail in dark blue and dark red, and an orchid something or other crowntail (very LOOOOOOONNNNNGGGGG finnage, very dark purplish almost black color with a hint of blue on the tails and fins). this brings me up to 13!!!!!

i'm running out of room on the bookshelf .

Edit: I'm so uncreative. I name all my males after Greek letters. I come up with names for the girls though.

theyre a great bunch of fishlovers. we're even going to be working on doing a show with the las vegas and cali groups. (note to GP, two of the members, the ones i got the coppers from, are from flag..... maybe you could join and hitch a ride with them.....)

cc, the coppers are soooooo little!!! i have to hurry up and get pics. i've decided the the short fin CT may just be a plakat after seeing some pics. he's definitely my new fave.

um, as of right now, i'm up to 22............ four just arrived today. (i think i need help) i've taken pics of about half right now (so hard to get good pics), so no pics yet, but i'm working on it. i should have time this weekend to get the rest of the shots and download them (that should give the four new ones time to relax and get their color back).

for now, here's the complete list (i have to ban myself from aquabid for a month now):

two MG CT males ("the twins"), pale yellow VT mutt male, opaque female (tail type??), MG female (tail type??), 2 red with iridencent green VT mutt males, dark blue with red plakat male (my favorite, he's feisty), black orchid CT male, orange plakat male, MG delta male, copper plakat male, copper plakat female, shades of red/pink CT male, red/black/white CT male, blue ST male, blue/red plakat male, blue/red plakat female, red ST female, black and white marble plakat male, 2 black and white marble plakat females. wheewww......

i have room for four or five more, then i'm out of shelf space. i may have to try keeping some at work again now that they've shut the ac off to make room at home

dang MAM! thats a nice list of bettas! im having troble finding any nice battas around here... i wish we had a betta club or even a nice fish club around here.

Sounds like u really have been busy!!! i think next time u go 4 supplies, u sud only have the exact amount of money 4 them, lol, or u will always buy more everytime u go there! lol, how abt finding a fish shop that only sells the food n supplies ? lol, sounds like u need to do sumthing b4 ur over run! which wud take the fun and enjoyment out of them, cus ur neva get the chance to admire all of them!

Cant wait to see the pix, especially the pink into red CT!
