The Life Of A Shrimp In A Cichlid Tank

I had some shrimp from my planted tank that i couldnt rehome, so i put them in my new Cichlid tank thinking they'd become lunch pretty quickly. So far only my Cherry shrimp have been eaten. My larger Amano shrimp carry on with their business as if nothings changed.

Heres a video of one of my shrimp, now named, Shrimpy, staring death in the face.

The shrimp might survive for quite a while. Until those fish get big, they won't realize that the shrimp is food. Go Shrimpy!

Really like the tank, it looks great. Structure of rocks looks like it makes for good hind and go seek for the fish, not to mention the shrimp.

I was kind of hoping i'd have algae growing on the rocks by now, almost approaching 2 weeks since i changed the tank over to a Cichlid one.

The shrimp mainly eat the pellets and flakes that i feed the fish, they actually compete at feeding times with the fish, not sure how long the fish will put up with that though.

I'm really liking the change to Cichlids, it makes a nice change from planted tanks. The only problem is that the fish are really shy, they all scurry away and hide whenever someone comes into the room, only to slowly reappear after a few minutes.

Perhaps i have too many hiding places...

I have a couple of amano's in my other tank. He seem like a brazen little bugger with attitude!!! I hope he stands his ground and lasts!
