I'd like to be the first person to say thanks for the new killifish subforum! I've always wanted to keep them but never knew where to find advice, and now I've got somewhere to do it.

I'm sure the number of killifish keepers in the Uk will increase because of the forum alone!

Many thanks.

Thanks for the comments, CFC and Lateral Line really deserve the credit for re-bringing the issue to my attention. I'm aware it has also been brought up several times in this very forum as well. So I hope it gets much use! :good:

I'm not going to get into exactly what I think here, those on chat earlier know and agree, more or less. I think it's ugly, too complicated, pointless (once the novelty wears off that is. Just how many killie posts have there been since the last mention of a sub-forum? One, two? Nothing that demands a seperate area), and certainly means we're going to have to end up with the stupid layout that no one wanted- everything divided, sub-divided, sub-sub divided.... We're going to end up with a bichir sub-forum, then a ray one, then an eel one, and so on, until the cyprinid/characin forum realises they've been had and wants cyprinids and characins divided, which then go into sub-sub forums... where's the point? To my mind, it hasn't done a great deal of benefits to the Catfish forum, indeed, I now only look at the Other Catfish section whereas before I looked at all. By forcing people to search in endless subforums for topics, it drives people away and stops people helping.

You can't please everyone all the time

i was never crazy about the idea either, didnt really see the point of it, but if it pleases some people then it can only be a good thing.

I'd just like to say thankyou and well done to William, over the last couple of days ive noticed a few changes, all goes towards making the forum a little bit more interesting :)

I agree poor william never gets a break we all want more.
Good luck william with your forth coming exams.

And there was BigC thinking pigs would fly before that happened

I think it fab :fun:

Not too sure how I'm exactly following this I know zero about corys and hence really do not have enough experience to give an educated opinion. So I tend to stick to what is of interest to me and areas I might be able to offer advice. Instead of having to wade through tons of posts I know or care little about.

what I want to know is where is the danio subforum eh?
come on bring on the danios :)

i agree actually its the 8th of april now the last post in killifish was on march 30th!! 9 days and not 1 post!!!why does it need a different section? the one question i posted in there never got an answer anyway had to get my answer in the oddball section just seems a waste to me -_-

just my humble opinion though

I vote it gets changed to a danio forum

i dont keep them but i think snakeheads or rays r far more deserving more people have them and certainly more ppl post about them :good:

It appears that some people are just born to moan and moan they will about anything and everything. The Killifish forum sub-section is not the issue. The fact that its there means you have a choice as with any sub division for any species. I personally welcome all changes and sub-divisions no matter how many hits they recieve. It can only be for the good of the hobby. Diversity of the knowledge base of the forum can only be for the common good for each and every member to source.
