Well, at around noon today I had the pleasure of aquiring two new bettas from BettaBum! You may have seen them on the adoption thread - Luna and Holly (I'm considering changing the names, if that's ok with the previous owner. I've had a ferret and a cockroach with the same names before). They are absolutely gorgeous little gals, and the difference in personality is amazing! Luna is so mellow and peaceful, and Holly is very bold. They're both impressing my boys immensely; Luna is between Matamoras and Clarence's tanks while I work on getting the 10g fully set up, and they're both flaring, "strutting," and bubblenesting. Holly, on the other hand, seem to have frightened Buckeye, who isn't loving the idea of another female next to her tank after she just recovered from getting beaten up by other gals.

Anyways, here's some pics to enjoy. I've also updated the shots of Buckeye and Clarence in my sig, and added the pics of Luna and Holly ^^

Sorry about the blurryness; she doesn't stand still for long, and the lighting was pretty bad.

Isn't she darling? I love reds.

Awww they look so happy!!! I'm so glad you were able to take them, I don't mind if you change their names at all :D :D It was great meeting u today! Keep me updated on the girlies!!

Flamepony - the camera is a Canon Powershot 270. If you'd like to see more of the type of shots I've taken with it, you can look here. It is a fantastic camera for close-ups; it can take shots as close as an inch from your subject.

Thanks for all the comments, guys! And BettaBum, it was a pleasure meeting you; I'm looking fowards to seeing all of the little cuties you fill up those new tanks with. :hey:
Once I have them fully set-up in thier final home, I'll post some better, more focused shots. These were just quickies so I could update my sig, heh.

I may be looking into Canons soon, I'll definitely keep it in mind. It takes amazing pictures!

Ah, you have a dA.. mind if I add you? :)

Cute girls! I love the red one!

I have a canon powershot SD450 and I can't seem to find a good setting for taking fish pictures! Which setting do you use for your canon?

When photographing the fish, what I typically do is place it on the setting for fast motion, decrease the intensity of the flash to -2, place the "under water" setting on, and focus as needed. I don't know if yours and mine work the same, but that tends to be the best for fish. I have very shaky hands, so I always have the motion setting on regardless of if I'm photographing a moving object or not.

And sure flamepony, I'm always up for an add ;)
