The Gateway Dudds?

i understand that convicts are basically like a gateway fish to Xbreeding.

What ive got from this forum...

Convicts will x with...

Texas
Fire mouth
Sajica
Jade Eye
Jack Dempsey

ive come to believe that my texas Convict is a "Dudd", due to the fact 3 times he spawned with a pink
convict and the eggs were infertile and now shes dead. did he get angry at her or what?

i currently have FM,Texas,Jack dempsey,convicts (which i wanna cross) im just wondering if there first gen xbreed kids r gna be duds?

can i get convict x texas ====> and cross with convict x JD?
then texas-Jd-Convict to x with a Firemouth etc...

im just curious about how this works im new to the hybrid, bit of a forsaken thing here but i wanna do it.

Since they are all Central American cichlids, it could be possible, but other than that, I'm not sure. I know I've seen various hybrids from that list of yours, but I don't have any information on the sterility or lack thereof in them.

Cons will also cross with blood parrots and red devils and I have even heard a big male con spawned with a young female jaguar cichlids but the fry were eaten.

i have 2 jags also so that'd be a strange mix Con jag territorial and aggressive? thanks 4 the help
