The First Feed?

When should I feed my clowns first?
I think the guy gave me some frozen mysis and brineshrimp (with garlic) so how much, how often and how soon? haha

I'd wait until the day after you get them to feed them, especially if the shop fed them the day you got them. For the first feed, do a little at a time until you see how much they can eat in a couple minutes. I feed my fish every other day, some people feed daily, others every 3-4 days, up to you I guess.

clowns were happy this morning will feed them later. Do i defrost like half or quarter of a cube not a whole one?

food will keep in the fridge for a day or so once defrosted

just careful you don't spill it, have got myself in trouble for tipping mysis and krill all over the salad drawer before

When I had just my clowns I would feed them about 1/6th of a cub a day and a tiny bit of flake.

There isn't too much issue with feeding Marines, if they take what you give them it is very hard to over feed them (unlike some tropicals). It is more the issue of the tank coping with it, as you don't want loads of excess nutrients flying about. The ideal would be to feed a tiny bit several times daily as they do in Marine shops. Remember they are permanently looking for food in their natural habitat so to provide it regularly is a good idea. Clowns will eat just about anything IME so you shouldn't have any problems.

I used to feed my clowns flake and frozen, it is good to get a variety but not essential, but most flake is a herbivorous mix so gives different things to the frozen Brineshrimp, Mysis or Krill. I just started using Ocean Nutrition Prime Reef is good too, (think Liam uses that too) my fish all go mad for it.
Overfeeding is a tricky thing to determine, my pinch of flake will be different to yours, my powerheads may result in more food finding its wasy into the sump etc etc. I was pretty mean with the amount I fed until recently when I started upping it a bit. I used to keep Malawis which are prone to Bloat caused by overfeeding and stuff getting stuck in their gut so I was used to feeding small amounts.

I do too sometimes. If they eat it they're not over feed, most marine fish eat regularly anyway.

i feed everyday in a certain order.
