The Dogs

I agree, Springer Spaniels are brilliant. We have Tex and Ruby (dad and daughter) at the moment, Tex is 5 and Ruby's coming up to 9 months old.

We first got Tex because we got really into game shooting so decided on a dog, the first day we got him he was retrieving and he's won field trial champion awards all over the county now. He's loyal and also a massive softy but if someone comes into the garden he'll fire up at them, he bit a guy who had stolen a mechanical digger AND the copper that was chasing him once hahaha. But he'll let my cousin who's 6 pull his tail and be a general annoyance to him and he'll sit and take it. Ruby is exactly like her dad, she went out hunting with myself and Tcx last weekend as a bystander, not fazed by the shot at all.

Couldn't really ask for better dogs, come in from work and they're sat there bums wiggling, they alert you to people's prescence and give you a lick on the chops when you're down.

I've found Cockers to be very head strong whereas Springers will move mountains to please you.
