The Betta Bug Has Bitten

Valhalla Street - lol!
No idea what I'm going to call this new guy. He's purple, turquoise and white. Guess it takes time...

NICE FISH - red marble is officially nice. Is that VTxDT?

I have to get a photo of my latest arrival. The filter in Spider's tank has died (Another shonky filter RRRRR) and he's gone and gotten finrot. I'm going to put him in some water with a lot of salt and put Valhalla in that tank (after stripping it out and changing all the water) because he really hates currents. He seems a lot happier in his current-less tank (that nest is huge) but I'm sure he'd prefer something larger. The 5 gal is still MIA somewhere between the warehouse and the store, but as soon as I get my hands on it - betta setup and a half.

EDIT: Worked out why Spider has finrot. Some string I used to tie an anubias to a rock in his tank has gone slimy and sent his water rotten. It was disgusting. I removed it, changed the water and put Valhalla in the tank. So now its a flareoff, Spider and the newcomer. Even in those ugly little plastic tanks - I've been sitting on the floor watching them...
SOMEBODY COME UP HERE AND BUY ALL THE HOT BETTAS BEFORE I GET ANOTHER ONE AND MUM KILLS ME!
At least now I can say again that I don't own an aquarium I wouldn't drink from.

What are you like   can't wait to see some pics of your new new boy....he sounds stunning :D

Here's another shot of my shy boy, Moonshine, and another of Valhalla cause I feel like it. The photos of the new fish are coming in a few minutes. I also did a video, which will be going up on YouTube. Resolution sucks, I don't have a video camera and I had to use video mode on a standard digital camera. Yuk. Still, it shows them off nicely. I'll put up the link when it uploads, it's taking forever.

Here is the new boy. Sorry for the mostly crappy photos.
The 'midi float tank' is 1/4 gallon, split in 2 for two bettas. I absolutely DON'T keep bettas in there, I use it for collecting livebearer fry and I always remove the divider. It's not big enough to drop two at once. They were in there for about five minutes, so please don't flame me. The jar the new fish was in is 1/2 gal, he was in there while I changed the water in his tank so I put it next to Moonshine's tank to see if he'd flare. He didn't (couldn't see through the thick glass) but I still got some nice photos.

He doesn't even look like the same fish, his colours change so much in the light. Here's the vid, there's some good footage of my beautiful Stryker swimming under the float chamber.

Wow.......beautiful colours......they look super :good:

Thanks! He's a lively fish... and a guts! It's a shame the logo on the float chamber ruined the flare shot. He is DDR, isn't he? Also would this be called HMCT? He does have a 180 spread, you can't really tell from that photo.

I've decided to chew off my leg which was where the betta bug infected me

Not gonna get anymore betta yet, even though i have two spare 3 galls with heater and filter

Decided i would focus my attention on my two remaining betta, rather than buying loads more

I would NEVER be able to do that. I just see a nice betta and I think to myself, it's so pretty and they sell so cheap. Where will he end up? Somewhere where he won't be loved or valued or cared for properly. I can't stand to think of them living out their lives in a cup. I have to accept that I can't rescue every betta, but the pretty ones at least I have to have.

Yeah, but it's kinda worse when you can see the potential just oozing out of them... besides, I don't have the skill to save the really sick ones.
