It can take more than a day for the fish to build a bubble nest.

If your male labyrinth isn't building a bubble nest, make sure they are lots of floating plants and not too much surface turbulence or water movement that will break up the nest. You can also try lowering the water level a bit.

Ok, then he might still make a bubble nest, if he doesn't,they might still breed successfully.

Well if they breed without a bubble nest, what do you think they are going to do with the eggs?

first they would probably fertilize them, then float them in egg nest at the surface of the water, guard and raise the eggs/fry, then last but not least: Repeat.

No they wont breed without a bubble nest and even if they did the eggs wouldnt survive, If the female expels the eggs they may be eaten or not, If not the female will re absorb them.
