great tank thread!!
we have just upgraded from our Fluval 125 Ltr which was pretty much the same as yours.
We replaced the lights with 1 Flora Glow for the plants and 1 Aqua Glow to bring out the colours of the fish.
What fish are you planning to get?

Sounds good, how much did the new lights cost and did you have any problems with condensation leakage???

Planning to get a few platties to start off I think.

What tank have you upgraded too

Plants have got their roots in now, added some more flake food, temps still at 29*C, will be testing water tomorrow and adding "mature" media.

If the media has been alowwed to dry out then all the bacteria will be dead!

Is the media still in your friends filter?

The tanks is looking good by the way, when the plants grow in it will be a nice jungle look (my tanks are all of the jungle genre even if it's not on purpose lol)

In relation to the filter i have the exact same tank and the fluval 105 would be more that sufficant as an external filter system

Thanks for that Ill have a look at those too.

Dont worry! The media is still in the filter, ill transport it tomorrow in a lunch box filled with tank water hehe

Thanks for the tank comment hopefully it will be a nice jungle,, thinking about adding more plants and a bit of bogwood instead of that pot which im not to keen on.


Taken a new picture after moving the plants arround somewhat.

if i remember correctly the lights were under £10 each off ebay, was a while ago lol

we had to put extra sealant around the bit were the plastic rim meets the glass, it was fine then!!

just upgraded to a 220 Ltr, got it off ebay for £40, with cabinet, bargain!!!
