whats everyones thoughts on using a 300w heater on this (got 2 spare so if its ok might aswell)

i think i need 200w for 170 liters so would 300w be a risk to my tank

i also forgot to say the halide has a ballast with hanging metal so ive fixed it to the side of the cabinat you can see the orange switch lights on the right in the moonlight pic

the 300w were bargain buys from a fish shop closing down

i need to build a lid still but hopefully soon

ok well mum and dad got me a new v2 compact 300 as a early birthday present so way over skimmed now 350l of skimmer on a 170 litre tank should be good

because the lr was in my other tank i was ready for cuc and fish sooner than i thought

so the other day i got

5 turbo snails and 10 blue leg micro hermits

so tonight i got the folowing

a red orange montipora frag

a candy cane frag

a green favia brain coral frag

a pink cheeked goby + pistol shrimp symbiotic pair

and two clown fish wich are the coolest things ever

(and there was already 2 ricordeas loads of purple polyp things and a 6 inch bit of hystrix and some euphilia)

none of shrimp or goby as i think there building

but there is one of the cave there in

i also think i need a small bit more on the top of the structure on the right

also any other ideas for fish i want a six line wrasse and id like a coral beauty id also like a pair of cleaner shrimp but can i have them with the pistol shrimp ?

goby made an apearance this morning so i put some food in and when a pellet floated past his face it scared him back to his cave

have you got any ideas for fish ide like a six line wrasse and id like a coral beauty id also like a pair of cleaner shrimp but can i have them with the pistol shrimp ?

also i ordered 2 3000lph sun sun powerheads the other day and they arrived about an hour ago and are now in so thats 40x turn over an hourbut it doesnt seem like a whirlwind so im ok withit

I've heard of people having trouble keeping other shrimp with pistols, but no personal experience.

oh hmm i wonder if any ones had success with this thing that makes me think it could be ok is the pistol seems to be a bottom burrower and the cleaner i had before seemed to be mid tank all over the place
