I know this might sound like a really stupid question but please bear with me as i am only a newbie to all this fishkeeping. Is it okay to keep Bettas and Angel fish in the same tank? The my lfs said it would be ok but i just want to ask here as most of ye seem to know what ye are talking about. Any info will be appreciated. Cheers

No. From what I have heard the betta will see the angels as other male bettas and attack them. I also think the angels will attack the bettas. There is a sticky somewhere that lists tank mates for bettas.

i have 2 angelfish and a betta together (55 gallon). they don't even notice the betta and the betta doesn't seem to notice anyone too much either.
maybe i got lucky.

it dependsw on the fish as some angels can be really placid and leave everything alone, others can be vicious, and the same with betas you might drop lucky but i wouldn`t
