Howdy!
Thank You all for all your information. My tank is perfict. I have not lost a fish just the ones in my sig.
I'm doing 50% water changes once a week plus a vaccume. My stats to day are
PH 7.6
Hi PH 8.6
Ammonia, Nitires, Nirate 0
Have also found frozen fish gum drops. Veg, Srimp & Bloodworms they love this stuff.
My pleco is a common LFS said would not get over 3 in.
So next question is how long does it take for these fish to get to adulthood. Months or Years?
I have no plans to get any more as there is so much more to learn.
Thanks

Most tetras will be fully grown within a year to 18 months. You may have problems with the serpae tetra further down the line as they are fin nippers and so probably aren't the best choice to go with the long finned tetras. Personally i would swap them for more of the skirt tetras that you have.

The LFS is lying, a common plec will easily reach 12 inches more likely 18 inches and they grow at an amazing speed sometimes an inch a month. Commons shouldn't be put in anything under 55 gallons IMO. 10 gallons are too small for any plec and you would be better off with otocinclus but as they like to live in groups you may be pushing it, that said, 3 otocinclus will take up a lot less space than an 18 inch plec. Otos only grow 2 inches long, they do better in mature tanks over 6 months old.

Do a google search on common plec sizes, then you can print it off, and show the LFS when you return yours.
