I have been looking at our corals and saltwater invertebrates profile section lately... while great so far it decidedly needs some 'beefing up'. I say we all write some profiles for it, make it the one people are linking to. Just a thought.

I call writing Kenya tree coral and bubble tip anemone for the 'corals' and peppermint shrimp and horseshoe crab for the 'saltwater invertebrate' section.

Yeah, its a little light huh? I'll be happy to contribute a few more to it :)

Great task for somone laid up on his back

I didn't realize those were up for anyone to add to. Does each one have to have a picture associated with it before it goes up?

Each profile should be by someone who has successfully kept one, and ideally the profile shoudl include an owner from the forum's picture.

I figured it would have to be by the keeper, just wasn't sure about the photo. Thanks for clarifying. The white ball corallimorphs I've had since I started in saltwater came to mind when I saw this thread, but I don't think I've ever managed a clear picture of one.

There's nothing to stop you getting a photo from another member to use in your piece. :good:

Edit

Actually, it might be an idea to have a thread where people who have written articles request better photos of the subject to utilise in the article.

i used to have those shrooms, melevsreef.com has some pictures of those shrooms if you need them.

Don't forget wikipedia. There is an enormous source of free, uncopyrighted material to be had by searching it's pages. A fair bit of the pictures on my starfish page came from there.

I'll throw one up there for Skunk Clownfish and Duncanopsamnia Axifuga later this evening :)

I just added a Watchman goby. Please...submit only if you have kept it and add your OWN experience in...not just what is on the net. No 'liveaquaria' duplications. YOUR OWN PHOTOS TOO. If you don't have one, ask one of our members if they have one and would 'lend it' to you for use. SH

what if i cant get a clear pic and that im not sure if anyone else here has it? Can i just use an internet one? I guess i could add my blurry photo that only shows a few antennas and a detritus filled cave....

Well...it's always good to get a dig cam as part of one's marine setup. However, understanding finances, amongst our members SOMEONE should have a pic. You MUST get permission to use a pic off the internet. There has been problems with this in the past. People have ripped off our TFF stuff for use on other fish websites. Be careful. SH
