I will be setting up a 4' planted tank in a couple of months and like what I have read about the Tetratek X 1200 filter.

Has anyone here used one and what do you think of them please?

we run one on our 4ft Rio 240 - Great filter...

Really quiet and very good at filtering. We're currently saving up for another to replace a rena XP3 on the 350L Trigon.

Very please with ours - and it only cost me £68 brand new :good:

love mine.
apart from changing the floss (once)
I've yet to clean mine out.

managed to blag it from tetra so cost me nowt :good:

Thanks for the replies. That's it then I will order one it certainly looked good on their site and the video was good as well.

Where did you manage to pay £68? The cheapest I jave fpond on the web is £74.99 and my lfs will do £72.

Ive got a tetratec ex1200 in my 4ft 220 litre tank. Far better than any eheim Ive ever owned. They seem to be getting very popular now and are a bargain at the price they sell for.

I bought mine online from aquatics online for £73.99 at the start of last year.

I've just got one for my 4ft (there's a theme developing here, isn't there?) and I'm absolutely overjoyed with it. I previously had a Fluval 4 Plus internal, which was an excellent filter, but after just two days with the TetraTec, the water looked sensational. I've taken the bag of carbon out, though, and replaced it with another black biofilter sponge. I've had to angle the spraybay up a little more to ripple the water's surface - it's the only way I can tell the filter's still working, it's THAT quiet!.

got one on my brackish tank but before that it was one of 2 on my 6ft tank always did the job great for me :good:

yup i use one on my 2.5 footer thats in my bedroom cant say enough good, quiet, efficient and east to clean

setup the latest on the 350l trigon last night... ;)

again £68 - but only because we collected - Its from Rocket aquatis on eBay ;)

Ive bought one too, should be getting it delivered tomorrow :good:

Out of curiosity, where and how have you got the pipes going in to the trigon?

I will be putting mine in my trigon 190 and cant quite get my head around the best way of positioning the pipes

we still have the juwel filer in there... as you look at the back corner the intake is on the left of the juwel filter.

the spray bar then runs along the right side of the tank.

I dont know what flaps the 190 has on the top but the 350 has a triangular section at the back - it stays open slightly as i dont want to cut it about so it rests on the pipework.

The spray bar comes in sections so you can make it the length you need. the 350 actually lets you use it all - just.
In the rio 240 i had to cut one ot the sections down to fit in as much as I could.

Let me know if you want pics ;)

If you get a minute that would be great.

Plus its always nice to see how others set out their trigons, could do with a bit of inspiration! :good:

Nice one :good:

I will be removing the internal filter in about 4 weeks once the new one has matured a bit.

Thanks for your help, and your tank looks great btw
