can you get extra flexible tubing from your lfs?

i dunno how i'd fit the flexible tubing. I need to add something between the pipe coming down and the right angle, but it'd mean finding a pipe that has different sized ends to fit.

As for cleaning, i cleaned mine after one week and it was pretty pointless. The only thing remotely dirty was the filter floss at the top and that didnt need cleaning at all. I did have another filter running at the same time though.

I guess it'll depend on what fish you have in the tank and the size of tank. For now, i'm waiting until 2 weeks are up then i'll see how dirty it is.

I picked mine up on Ebay for £50. Just recommended it to 2 other people I know. The filters are quite cheap on ebay as well, although I can only find one supplier at the moment, but I have more than enough spare filters at this point in time.

Is it just an adapter plug or is there more to it? - could you wire a standard UK plug onto it if you wanted?

You get a standard 2 pin european plug, like those that you get on shavers. There's no reason why you couldnt cut the plug off and fit an english one. I left mine on as it's easier to unplug when you want to clean the filter.

The power adapter mentioned is just an adapter plug really, to fit a 2 pin into an english plug socket.
