Tetratec Ex1200

I was just doing some maintenance on my ex1200 as it had been making a very loud humming on and off for some time.

Took the impeller out to clean it and it has a big crack down it

I got it in Dec 2008 and it has a 3 year warranty, however going through the diagnostics on the website, it asks me if the product is over 6 months old, so I tick yes, then it tells me to buy a new one...

I thought I'd give them a call (023 806 6070 in Southampton). The message gives the freephone number to contact Germany (008007668876 goes straight through to a real person too) and they are sending me a new one out in the post tomorrow under warranty! Not sure why their website has a different idea on the warranty though.

I love Tetratec, they're so good! I had a small 60l tank from them once and the light unit failed after a few years. they sent me a whole new lid for free then too!

Sounds like a really good service, makes a change these days, I'll be taking that number for my little black book

Impeller arrived today, my filter is now silent once again
