ive bought some of this after being advised to fertilise my dyeing plants, but the instructions seem double dutch to me or im trying to read too much into them as i dont want to harm my fish
here are the instructions on the bottle

Add 5ml per 10L of aquarium water for a newly set up aquarium or at each partial water change or 5ml per 20L for re fertilisation every 4 weeks

well the tanks being running a while and its a 120L tank do i add 5ml of fert to th 20L of the new water going in or 5ml-20L of the whole tank ?

For the whole tank .

It's not the most economical method of fertilisiation.

But adding fertiliser inst necessarily going to suddenly fix dying plants anyway - unless they are showing actual signs of specific deficiencies because they are growing too fast because your tank has such high lighting, or your water is very soft and mineral deficient and you've chosen exclusively hardwater species.

Any more info on the tank, and pics of the plants as they are planted?

hi the substrate is sand, i am not feeding the plants with anything, the light is a 40w aqua glo 42" in a 48" tank, there is 4 airstiones running (gently) in the tankj will this effect is and the filter is a Fluval 4

Yes, but what types of plants are they? (quite important) Can you post a pic?

Also, how long has the tank been set up :).

I take it the tank is 12" deep?

tetra plantamin is awful imo. TPN+ is better by far.

who makes tpn+

anyway here are a few pics of the plants so you can tell me what they are and idvise on the feeding of

The plant in the 4th pic is a non aquatic.

Dracaena sanderiana - best taken out and planted in a pot on your widowsill before it just starts to rot in the tank.

Then you have Egria densa and Cabomba carolina, both of which are easy but will probably end up growing long towards your light.

The plant that looks like it's dying at the back is a Bacopa species of some sort. It kinda just looks like it's not getting enough light and has been picked at by fish. Other plants look healthy enough so dont worry about it :good:.

The tetra plantamin is fine in your case, nothing wrong with it. Keep on using it until you are finished, then just get whatever works out more economical.

TPN+ stands for tropica plant nutrition plus, made by tropica. Not necessary with your relativity low lighting, no CO2 and easy pants though. No fertiliser really is. Some fertiliser may help the plants grow faster in your case though, and at least will do no harm.
