hey guys
it isnt a big problem but all my tetras have pieces missing out of their fins.
i cant think what it could becus none of the fish are at all vicious to each other. :dunno:
you can see the fish i have in the bit below.
does anyone have any idea what it could be?

id keep an eye on the gouramis , they can get territorial with similar fish like the betta .

The betta and the gouramis should not be kept in the same tank, they're of the same species. It's possible that because of the stress that they are under, they could have nipped the fins. But they're not real fast swimmers either, so in either case, I'd just keep an eye on things and plan to move some of those fish in another tank, starting with the betta or the gouramis. Good luck.

i've been keeping an extra eye on the betta and gouramis, but they seem to be fine with each other. no none of them are at all aggresive to each other, even at feeding time. i think whatever it was has stopped now anyway because the tetras are healin up nicely. neway thanks for your help guys

I remember saying this before. They're not the same species.

They are of the same family. But they're not the same species. they share a famil but genus and specis are different'. You can't have 2 distinctly different fish and both be the same species. i.e. you can't have a gold gouramis and call it a betta splendens.

They aren't the same species. But as far as this: "You can't have 2 distinctly different fish and both be the same species"

I don't know about fish, but look at dogs. There are some vast differences between things like poodles, borzois, and daschunds (to name a few), but they are all the same species.

Technically they're not. Since fish typically deal with a scientific name

just within gouramis there are 8 different genus

All of my neons have splits in their tails
But they don't look big enough to do it themselves :dunno:
