Loko, they are colour variations, just like you get colour variations in killi's. People who dye them dye the white ones as the colour will stand out more. You understand?
 
Those "white skirt tetras" you have are actually just dyed black skirt tetras and are more commonly called fruit loop tetras, I have some and they came from my sister and she had no idea what dying was so I suggest buying actual black skirt tetras in the future.

Since they're my fish let me put an end to this controversy.

The fish are sold as "Painted Tetras". They are actually "White Skirt Tetras" dyed to look blue, red, pink, orange....whatever color the dealers decide to dye them. Had I known at the time that they were dyed, I would not have purchased them as the method of dying seems very cruel. However, I have them now and they are treated very well. They are NOT Black Skirt tetras.
