I have for the first time got a test kit. YAY! :p
anyway I have tested my tap water and wondered what
everone elses tap water is like.

Nitrate 5
PH 7.2
Ammonia 0.25
Nitrite 0


My kit dosn't test for gh or kh but feel free to
add it if yours does.
 
My tap water is...

pH: 8.2
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0.1
Nitrate: 7


pH is quite high in this area, some of my fish shops have pH of 9 - 9.5 but the fish are all healthy still :dunno:

Phosphorous - 2 mg/l
KH - 200 mg/l
GH - 260 mg/l - very hard water

.50 Ammonia? isn't that quite high especially with your ph which is at 8, shouldn't all the water supplies be Ammonia free? btw, which part of Canada you're located because it got me worried...
 
I know, am a little worried of that as well. I am in Sherwood Park, Alberta.
i am going to eb testing my bf's water as well(he has softened water) so his might be better for the fish.
 
Straight from tap
pH - 6.8
Ammonia - 0
Nitrites - 0
Nitrates - 0
KH - 5°
GH - 7°

Same water after 24 hrs.
pH - 7.6 :crazy:
Ammonia - 0
Nitrites - 0
Nitrates - 0
 
Gazoo you make it sound like 7.6 is a bad pH? Thats a very good pH! Remember some of us have to use water with a pH of 8 and higher?!
