Coldwater tank not done has yet still filling.

For the information of others reading this thread who haven't caught onto the original one, this is a 6x2x2 tank in a fish-in cycle, currently running an fx5. Inhabitants are 2 tinfoil barbs, 1 blood parrot fish, 1 clown loach, and two angelfish. I copied that over from the other thread, Dave, so let me know if that's correct. :)

Good work man. I'd say with those values you'll be safe to leave it until tomorrow. Although obviously another water change won't hurt... :)

Good work staying on top of it. This is one of the problems with fish-in cycling: you want to make your filter bacs build up, but you also want to keep your water at as good stats as you can. It's one of the big dilemmas, but you're doing the right thing in my opinion - stay on top of the water changes, and you should lose fewer fish. That must be getting you through an insane amount of dechlor  I dunno if I mentioned it, but you can use the higher-concentration pond dechlor and save you a fortune. 2 >50% changes a day on a 6x2x2 tank - I hope your water's not metered lol

Seriously, though - good work :good:

It looks like you have things under control there Dave. Now all you need is the patience and dedication to keep doing the changes for a month or two.

Thank you for putting that in english moose! 6x2x2! ...could almost run a continuous garden hose in, hose out and dechlor drip on a fish-in, lol! (gee, maybe that's a good product idea, a dechlor/tap intelligent tank filler... ) ...Yes, you sound like you're on your way and one way a bigger tank should make it easier is that the pattern of percentage/frequency of the water changes should be more predictable than with smaller tanks, although of course the quantities moved may be considerable I guess. sheesh, water costs a fortune here!
