Hi

I set my tank up last Wednesday. It's a 58 litre. I have sand substrate, 1 peice of bogwood, a few rocks, a structured background which I stuck to the inside with aquarium silicone. I also have small clumps of christmas moss (no other plants as yet). No fish either.

Friday, I added the recommended amount of sera nitravec.

I tested the water yesterday, 24 hours after putting the sera stuff in with API master test kit. Results as follows:

pH: 7.6
Ammonia: between 0 and 0.25 (really hard to tell exactly but it looked in between these two colours)
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 5-10

I then did a high-range pH test:

7.4

Can someone interpret these results for me please.

Thanks
Andy.

Whats sera nitravec as I have never heard of this product. Going by your reading though I would ask the question how did you get any ammonia if you have no livestock in there or have not been putting ammonia in your self if you have please explain what you have done.

That sort of additive contains ammonia I think.

You could save money and just buy ammonia and following this

If you read and follow that then in 4-6 weeks you will be ready for fish and success :hyper:
