Test Kits

Saliferts without a doubt are the best liquid test kits available, if you're in the UK they can be bought cheaply from charterhouse aquatics.

I use a API master test kit ive used it loads now and its a good kit it was recommended on a guide i read on here.

i use the tetra test kits, never had a problem with them, always accurate, it's all down to how you get on with them i find the nutrafin tests are hard to judge the colour, whereas the tetra is easy

If in the US most people go with eithor API as they can be found in just about any LFS here in the States, and the cost is reasonable. Hagen Nutrafin, is also popular here in the US, but usually needs to be purchased on-line, price is roughly the same as the API (I believe the Hagen Nutrafin kits are easily found in Canadian LFS). Saliferts are also good, but again can be hard to find unless you order on line they can also be very pricy in the US, but from my understanding Saliferts are much more readily available and cheaper in the UK. Eithor of those 3 brands are good, as for which one is the best it really comes down to user prefenence, personally I use the API kits and have never had problems.

Very good test kits listed above!

The main thing that is important when buying a test kit, as all the ones listed above are, is that they must be a LIQUID base test kit.

Strip test kits are no good and inaccurate.

Most liquid test kits are accurate enough for our uses. I use API Freshwater Master Test Kit.
