Hey all,

At the moment I have a variety of seperate test kits by different manufacturers (eg. one for ammonia by one company, another for nitrates by a different compnay and so on) and they are all getting a bit low so I was going to get new test kits. Now for the questions.

1. Is it better to buy a master kit with all the tests or get each one seperately when the old one runs out?

2. Anyone got any recomendations as to a certain manufacturer? either for single kits or all inclusive sets?

Many thanks,
Sloth

I use a freshwater master test kit by API. The chemicals can be purchased seperately if necessary. The kit wasn't very expensive, considering how many tests it can do.

I have always used the Freshwater master kit by API the same as Bryan above  I have no complaints and of all the testing kits I've used over time it is by far my personal favourite ;)

I also use the Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Freshwater Master Test Kit. It works very well and has all the test you need

API for sure !
Tried others and can say from (my experience) that API is more consistant and accurate (in terms of easy to read results and non-confusing colours).
Oh, and just great value for money !

API for me too, only ones I've ever used though, but have found them pretty straightforward.

Thanks for all your replies :D

Looks like i'll be off to get an API test kit this weekend then.

Cheers,
Sloth

i also use an api test kit, u can pick ojne up in pets at home (if there is one near you) for £19.99.

it usually last me a while,

I have always used the nutrafin test kits but now I see folk seem to use the API ones .

I know the nutrafin ones do expires after 5 years or something, but thats plenty of time to use them, I am not sure about the api ones.
