Terrible fish injury

During the night one of my fish tore into my badis badis. The whole side of his face is practically gone. Surprisingly he is alive and eating a little bit. I moved him to a more peaceful tank. I’ve been using melafix. I’m wondering if there’s anything else I should do? How often should I do water changes to prevent infection?

Do a 75% water change each day. Make sure any new water is free of chlorine/ chloramine before it is added to the tank.

Feed a varied diet and feed the fish 3-5 times per day to help it build up reserves and heal itself.

Watch for secondary infections (fungus and bacteria) and treat immediately if you see anything.
