Overstocked or otherwise the 10 gallon was fine till my wife overfed them which was a month or more.

Seems to me though you didnt listen to someone with helpful advice. because your tank was over stocked. BUT ANYWYAS

Anyways, im with sylvia, you shouldnt need to vac. Waste of time. Let the bacteria do its job. Maybe add some water and filter media from your 25 gallon to your 10 gallon to speed it up a little if you want. Goodluck. Benny

Sounds like you went through a mini cycle due to the excess food rotting away and producing mass ammounts of ammonia. I hope your wife knows not to over feed now.........

Haha she wasnt supposed to touch it in the first place. SHE told me when she bought them for me "im having nothing to do with this" but clearly curiosity got the better of her.
She touches my new tank im going to feed HER to the fish
