Is there a pleco or cory which can survive in temps around 30C without any stress .;)

Sterbai's deal with higher temperatures better, but whether they would deal with 30 degrees i don't know.

i used to keep sterbai at 29 degrees. i reckon they would tolerate 30...try googling it!!

L :good:

ps - i say this as i was told i would have to raise the temperature of my discus tank to 30 degrees to encourage breeding. the tank had sterbai in it. better check to be sure though as i never did raise the temp or breed the discus!!!

Something to browse if you have not before, if I have presumed your mystery species that you think needs 30C...

As you can see, these fish can be found in much cooler water (24C), but on average this is 28C, making your choice of Plecos and Corydoras much bigger. For example, C. sterbai are found in such water, 24-28C.

i don't think delloy was talking about discus specifically???? i only mentioned them in relation to sterbai corys which i just happened to keep with discus, which of course require slightly higher temperatures than other tropicals. good point though...what exactly are you keeping at 30 degrees?? we will be able to advise you better of suitable tank mates!

L

Well I wanna keep discus with some neons. :dThe only pleco which I know that lives at 30c is clown pleco....

Almost any of the Hypancistrus will do just fine at those and higher temps. I just had a heater malfunction boil a tank- 105F(40.5C). When I discovered it. I lost two larger discus (one a wild) an all the rummy nose tetras. However the L450s all survived- don't ask me how.
